Respect for the Kitchen

Respect for the Kitchen

It’s not so much about making chef-quality meals as it is about honouring the food you source, the people who produce it, and those you’re feeding. At Virelle, the human traditions of cooking and craftmanship are built right into our knives. Made to last, designed to perform and a joy to use, we’re here to connect and take care.

Craftsmanship with Dual Heritage

Craftsmanship with Dual Heritage

At Virelle, we bring the precision and devotion of Japanese blacksmithing traditions to local Australian craftmanship by forging premium, high-carbon steel blades that are sustainably sourced and hand-assembled in Sydney. We tread respectfully to create heirloom pieces you’ll always hold onto.

Small-Batch, Purposeful Production

Small-Batch, Purposeful Production

From the start, we chose to make Virelle knives small-batch and produce them only in limited runs. We do this so each knife is truly a one-off and carefully finished for balance, precision, and longevity. In a way, this bonds you with your Virelle knife, because only you have this unique blade in your kitchen. We think that’s pretty special.

Sustainability in Every Detail

Sustainability in Every Detail

We’re not here to add to landfill. Our focus is on contributing to solutions, not creating more waste. We use post-consumer plastic to shape our beautifully designed handles and all our packaging is recycled and recyclable. After all, good design is made for the long run.
